Time and tide

time and tide waits for no man… nor woman it would seem.

Where did the year go? Don’t you hear that a lot from people these days? I think, given the speed with which the world operates with mass instantaneous communication, (apart from banks who still take five days to process anything), perhaps the reason everything goes so fast is because we don’t have time to think, let alone do the things we want to do.

Or rather, that seems to be the general perception.

And because it went so fast – did we actually do anything significant with that year? Were there any milestones? Or was it simply a blur of unmemorable events? Did we do anything at all we wanted to do, rather than had to do?

But you have to make time. Stop watching the TV for a moment. Put down that addictive novel for just a sec.

Set aside 15 minutes, half an hour, an hour… to set down thoughts, make a plan, decide to do things. Then take a step to manifest what you want.

All the plans in the world can stay just that until you decide to make it happen.

This year’s gone quickly for me, but I acheived a number of things in my life, not withstanding regaining a revised view on life – a certain degree of self respect. That means not giving in on certain things, and walking away from some situations. I used to bend like the willow in the wind in order to keep the peace.

Now I aim to disturb it.

This journal will be a mix of thoughts, views and creative writing from time to time.

Let’s see where this goes…
