The Sleep of Shiloam

Semjâzâ fell.

And in the darkness did I come
To set alight the extinguished sun…

In her deeper
Did you see her?
Could she catch you?
Break the fall?
Inner questions with no answers
Left me waiting… is that all?

Inner Deeper
It grew darker
The torch extinguished
Now free fall
There are no answers
No debating; just a distant call…

I am deeper
In the darkness
Profound in silence
No sound at all
No fiery tears, no desires
Contemplation: a careworn pall

Ishtahar flew.

And in the bright skies did I soar
To set alight this stellar fire

I can see you…
The clever fool
Bound up; hanging
Twixt heaven and hell
All these years; all these fears
Hidden in the twilight thrall

In my deepening
Understanding
Loosed free; released
Bright against the sky
To be alone: the great unknown
Watched by the sophic eye

Deepest in me
Intimately
Buried now, these desires
The chains that bound
Both you and I: to break apart
Illation; consummation; now found

Liyliyth

I, am as black as the night skies in the cold desert
Ebon, in mood and soul, and heart
For I was the first: I held him, shivering, so close
My tangled hair wrapped around him as the wind rose
Equal, and opposite, strong and dark with desire
Mine was the only heat to warm his body; primal fire:

Ohhhh… but weak man, you pushed me
Away
Unable to contend, unable to stand, with me… so free
I loosed myself from your grip, silent in futile awe
I left you, holding nothing but clay dust in your feckless paw

I travel on the storm winds
I feed upon your nightly sins
As you toss and turn in disturbed sleep
I lie upon you, and take your seed whilst I weep
Black, Lilitu, demon queen
Mother of a thousand spawn
Each a reflection of lost love
Each one now a votive
Offered up, sacrificed, each day
Living moments, dying in birth
I, rightful wife of Adam, true Mother Earth

I stand, alone, cold in desolation
Watching your own spawn in isolation
Thrown from Edinu’s fertile lands
Banished at the Sephiroth’s hands
Scratching, clawing, breaking, killing
Polluting, desecrating, raping, unwilling…
To see or understand
This curse of man:
For as long as you demand
Control – overall dominion of sea and land
As long as you deny the balance
Wield power like a sword or lance
Demanding power over and not by, my side
You, will be denied

Black, bleak, oblique
I bear the children of your greed
No matter what colour or creed
I stand vigil in the darkest hours
Holding mankind’s heart in the deepest bowers
Of my love, atramentous
Hard, like obsidian
Obdurate, unmoving
Silent, like the starless sky
I,
Lilith, will love, until the end
Awake your self absorbed reverie: transcend.
