just a regular john (doe)

I don’t acknowledge the regular punters very often, but I know you are out there. Some are online contacts I have made through SU and FB, whilst others have made links through WordPress itself. Some, I know, are lurkers from ‘real life’ who are bit curious about me and did the inevitable googlewhack.

Thank you for dropping by, and, I am aware it’s been a while since my last set of regular posts – day to day work and getting practical things done has been somewhat to the fore recently so my poetry writing has suffered a tad for it.

I’ll be remedying this very shortly,

yers anapestically, dactylically and epodically,
~ EB.

Still feeling remarkably unbridled and benighted. Wouldn’t it be nice to have one’s cake and eat it too? ;)

I believe things like: What’s yours is yours, and what isn’t must be let go. If your right arm offends you, cut it off. Do to others what others do to you. No chaos, no existence. A life spent sipping rose scented water is interesting, but I’d rather decide the emptiness than what goes in it. Not very sophisticated I realize, but I get by.

Did I just talk out of both sides of my mouth again? So frustrating……..

But c’mon now if we were about mutual understanding then two would suffice. :)

-Good luck in teaching, and please remember to blog occasionally. I’m happy enough with myself but your prose is my porn and I just can’t resist free stuff.

Benighted… why wander around in the dark? Oh, I forgot – you might have cut your right arm off, so I would hazard a guess that finding the light switch could prove a challege. ;)

Well, what a post. Very… mm, familiar. Not sure why, your writing style reminds me of someone I used to know who had a serious fixation with snakes and flowerpots (courtesy of Mdm Blavatsky).

I’m not a big fan of rosewater myself, I tend to prefer rose wine instead, but I guess an empty glass has its aesthetic appeal. Rather minimalist. Very bauhaus.

But I do understand your pitch, and am vaguely flattered that my prose can push someone’s buttons like a nice bit of Debbie does Dallas. 8)

Worry ye not, more from genus irritabile vatum will come your way very soon. It’s just that 12 – 16 hour working days really haven’t been conducive to lyrical prose over the last few weeks.

Fear not for the future, weep not for the past ~ Bysshe Shelley.

    clink, clunk, thunk…

that’s the sound of a penny dropping and point omega linking back into alpha. I may be mistaken, but then again, the prose goes in similar flows:

…An all seeing Eye, a dragon in the sky?
A pattern in the wind, a new place begin?
All locked to the time, so as to skip frame,
and without clear motion, we must do the same.

    kudos.

Perhaps one day you’ll share more of your own.

Hmm, would I amputate? Did I charlie the horse? Nye, I unfortunately cannot refuse anything already taken hold of, loath as I am to deny release. More the juggle and jigger, I am ever afoot, keeping these hands busy for they know not what they do. Through me the hands deny existence, and without must accept guilt. Tools are no stranger to dominion, and I am a generous lord. (In other news, top and tail come in pairs and reaching out is the seed of reaching in.)

It’s nice when people are straightforward, and in most respects it pays well. However there are times when directing attention causes the band to play out of tune with itself. One has to be careful not to overdo. :)

Wine is not my drink, but coffee and a tab of modafanil work quite well in my business. In some cultures it is considered rude to not accept what is offered. Would that I accept what is given, that likely means I must also lose something else (see above). Indeed the courteous niggard at the door, wiping his feet to walk away.

My apologies for the delayed response. Lately I too work long hours and my mind does not drift far otherwise. It is nice to see your remarks on friendship. I do believe that friends kept close invites enmity from others, so I’ve tried my best to keep connections at the survival level only. In my experience once I’ve reached someone they do not require presence anyway.

If you knew this obsessed soul, what stories we might tell (tee hee)! All kidding aside I am nevertheless flattered as one of your intellectual fabric must not easily be prevailed upon to recall the banal and poshlost. I don’t know about you, but I might have added:

Enough is enough! I have had it with these motherfucking snakes on these motherfucking flowerpots!

I’m not sure the snakes have had much to do with Oedipic sexual activities, but thank you for the reply.

I take it your chosen career is likely to induce narcolepsy.. indicating, indeed, long hours or boredom, or both. I’d guess you’re either a software programmer, an ER doctor, or a night shift news hack. Or quite possibly something entirely else, but no matter – it has no bearing here.

An amusing prose style you have here – quite trippy, somewhat Edward Lear by way of Psilocybin.

Friendship is indeed a subjective area, and those kept close could be seen as a challenge to others who covet the crown of familiarity. Nonetheless, I believe that close friends are an asset, and one to be valued and worked at rather than become simply an assumption, with a laissez faire approach. Some choose not to have close friends, and I can appreciate that life view – it is sometimes easier to simply have acquaintances – it is less labour intensive. Perhaps it’s a lonelier path too, but for some people, I know this works better for them.
